Dubai International Airport is just 5 km from the city center, and you can choose from many options for how to get there. It's recommended to buy an NOL card. It is a prepaid smart card which you can use for transportation because cash payment is not accepted.

NOL Card recommended for visitors

• Silver card allows you to enjoy all modes of transport in Dubai.
• Red Tickets are available in vending machines for a very low price, but you have to buy a ticket for each ride.

Metro

It's a fast and affordable way of getting to and from the airport.

• The Red Line will take you to Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.
• The Green Line will take you to the Dubai Airport Free Zone.
• You can only take two pieces of baggage on the Metro.
• Travel time 24 minutes.
• Prices start at £1.
• Service hours from Saturday to Wednesday are 05:30 - 00, Thursday 05:30 – 1:00, and Friday 10:00 – 1:00. During the month of Ramadan, the service hours will be slightly different.

Public buses

• Buses cost roughly the same as the Metro but the travel time is roughly twice as long.
• Buses run regularly from 5:30 – 01:00

Airport taxis

• If you're departing in the late hours, a taxi will be the best choice.
• The travel time is around 15 minutes.
• From the Burj Khalifa to the airport will cost about £11.

Airport Parking

Airport parking is available at all terminals. You can choose from short-term parking if you leave the car for less than 5 hours and long-term parking. Long-term parking is located a bit further away, but the airport offers shuttle buses which will take you directly to the airport. At each terminal, there are Economy and Premium parking options. If you rented a car and now you need to return it, no need to worry. The most populare car rental companies are located at the airport.

Dubai International airport has three terminals. Terminal 1

• Has just one concourse (D).
• More than 100 airlines operate from this terminal.

Terminal 2

• Stands apart from the two main airport buildings.
• Used by over 50 airlines operating mainly in the Persian Gulf.

Terminal 3

• Divided into concourse A, B, and C.
• 20 Airbus A380 gates.
• There is a multi-level underground structure, with first-class and business lounges, restaurants, and much more.

In all terminals, you can find restaurants and fast foods. Unfortunately, most of them are not local. But you can find here KFC, McDonald's, Starbucks, the Hard Rock Cafe, and many more.

If you're traveling with kids and your flight is delayed, you can keep your little ones occupied in the new kid zones.

• Located in Terminal 3 (between gates B7 and B8).
• The whole area looks like it's straight out of the Arabian Nights fairytale.
• You'll find TVs showing children's programs, a baby changing room, a climbing area, and an interactive zone.

Dubai International Airport is one of the biggest and most modern airports, so you don't be surprised by how relaxing and entertaining it can be.

• In Terminal 3 near gates B7 and B27, you can find Zen Gardens for meditation or quiet time.
• There are also prayer rooms
• You can take a shower, or if you are traveling in First or Business class, there's ExpresSpa waiting for you.
• DXB also offers many lounges for economy travelers as well.

While waiting for your flight, you can use the free Wi-Fi. Even if you don't have a device, you can connect at the internet kiosk.
