Málaga travel tips

1) Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga is a must-visit for the art-lovers

This museum, located in a 16th-century Palacio de Villalón, houses a permanent collection of 230 works. Its focus is 19th-century Spanish painting. However, you will also be able to see masterpieces, which are seven hundred years old! Besides, like many other old buildings of Málaga, the Palacio stands on the remains of Roman buildings. The museum exhibits some Roman household rooms with decorations.

2) Leave your radar detector at home while going to Málaga

The possession of such a device is illegal in Spain. If the police find it in your car, you’ll be fined €500. The punishment is due even if the device is off. It’s better to respect the speed limits and avoid trying to trick the law.

3) If your smartphone battery is dead, look for the mobile charging point near the Málaga Cathedral

If you don’t have a charger with you, find the intersection of Calle Molina Larios and Calle Postigo de los Abades. At that mobile charging point, you can revive your gadget while enjoying the views of the nearby Cathedral. Note that all the hybrid and electric buses in the city are equipped with mobile phone charging points. Besides, you can buy a drink at the nearest bar and ask a bartender for a favour — usually, they don’t mind helping visitors.
