Meat, dairy products, and vegetables aren’t the only reasons to visit Hala Targowa (the Market Hall.) Its building was constructed in 1896, and architecture admirers will appreciate its Neo-Gothic style. During its restoration in the 2000s, the foundations of the 12th-century Church of St. Nicolas were discovered. That is one of the oldest churches in Gdansk! Visitors of the market can still see those foundations as they were found. There are also drawings of the church’s probable look.
