Gdańsk travel tips

1) Attend St. Dominic’s Fair, the major summer event in Gdansk

St. Dominic’s fair usually starts on the last Saturday of July and lasts till the middle of August. It is the most significant and famous summer event in Gdansk and one of Poland’s oldest fairs. The place is a must-visit for naval history fans. The Gdynia Naval Museum has a great collection of sailing ship models. In its armoury, you can find anti-aircraft guns, mines, and torpedoes. Some of the latter were in use at the turn of the 19th and 20th century! A separate exhibition is devoted to the history of the Polish Navy. An outdoor section includes some planes and artillery.
