Can I purchase refundable or reschedulable tickets?

You can add the ability to reschedule your trip or get a refund if you need to change plans.

When you’re traveling, plans can change unexpectedly. To avoid losing the money you paid for your ticket, you can purchase one of our flexibility options and be able to reschedule your trip or get an 80% refund.

Reschedule your trip

If you purchase the reschedule your trip option, you can change the dates of your trip up to 48 hours before your first departure, or up to 4 hours before if you bought tickets less than a week before departure.

You can also change the carrier you are traveling with – the only things that have to stay the same are the origin and destination.

Any trip changes must be made for all passengers on the itinerary.

If the new ticket costs the same or less than your existing ticket, it will be free. If it costs more than your existing ticket, you only have to pay the difference.

Let's say you bought a ticket for €200. You'd like to change it, and find a new ticket for €180. In this case, you could change your trip and get the new ticket without having to pay anything. But if your new ticket were to cost €250, you'd have to pay the €50 difference between the old ticket and the new ticket.
It is only possible to change your trip once. Any additional changes have to be made through our Customer Service agents and will cost the full price of the ticket.

What if I don't purchase the reschedule your trip option?

To change your trip, you’ll have to pay the full price of the new booking. This is because all date changes involve canceling the original ticket and purchasing a new one.

Refundable trip

You can cancel your trip up to 48 hours before the journey. We don't offer partial cancellations, so it's only possible to cancel the whole itinerary for all passengers.

If you cancel, you’ll get back 80% of the ticket costs (this includes the ticket fare, seating & baggage fees, and the prices of any other services offered by the carrier that you purchase).

If you buy a ticket for €200 with baggage for €50 and refundable trip for €100, you would get €200 back if you choose to cancel your trip.
You can choose how to receive it — either as a monetary refund or in Kiwi.com Credit.

What if I don’t purchase the refundable trip option?

You can still cancel your trip with us up to 48 hours before the journey. For tickets without the refundable trip, we’ll keep the recovered refunds as the cancellation fee. If your booking cost more than €20, you’ll get a €10 refund in Kiwi.com Credit, which will be valid for 24 months.

Can I cancel with the carriers directly?

You might choose not to cancel your ticket with us, and go directly to the carriers. But their policies and the way we book trips vary, so it might not always be possible to get a refund.
If you successfully claim a refund from the carriers, they might send it to our bank account — in that case, please let us know, to make the process faster. We’ll forward it to you unless you’ve already requested a refund from us.

You’ll find the details in sections 7.3 and 8.3.5 of our Terms & Conditions.
